Changes

January 29, 2011 1 Comments
One of the changes I've been talking about around here is a new layout!  If you stop by within the next couple of days and things are all over the place and look weird just be aware that I'm working on it and things will be back to normal/new soon!

Thanks,
Kandice

It's a year for me!

January 19, 2011 1 Comments
I'm really excited about this year and all that I plan to do for myself! I'm totally focused on myself, trying to make this the year for me. Sure I've just had a baby and obviously it's going to be ALOT about him but I am still really hoping to do things for me!

One of these things - as simple as it seems is to make sure that when we are going somewhere I make time to get ready! So many times we're heading somewhere and by the time I have all the things we need for the trip and everyone else ready I don't have time to get myself ready. I probably didn't get to shower, do my hair and I'll probably be applying my make up in the car! This year i've decided this won't happen anymore! I need the time to beautify myself! This really just means I have to delegate some of the tasks required to get everyone else ready! Shouldn't be to bad - I need to learn how to ask for help!

I am also really focused on getting healthy - the original reason for my blog right? So I've started working out (again). I definitely don't have the time to go to the gym so I looked around online to find something I might like. Turns out "Jillian Michaels 30 day shred" has some amazing reviews. I read that it's a hell of a workout but you get results! Just what I was looking for! I started last Thursday and should be doing it everyday for 30 days. I have done it twice! I know I know not a great start but I we so sore after the first two days that I was scared I might actually hurt myself if I did it again. Today i will be doing day three!

It's a pretty simple process - work out for 30 days, 20 minutes each day. There are three levels and you should spend at least 10 days at each level. Once you feel comfortable at level 1 go to 2 and stay there until you are comfortable to advance to level three. Jillian micheals is the instructor and includes two other trainer with her that each focus on different levels, one modified exercises (for beginners) and a second trainer for more advance technique. She starts with a simple warm up, 3 minutes of cardio followed by 2 minutes of strength, then 1 minute of abdominal work (3 times) plus a few good stretches at the end! It's fantastic!

You can read more about Jillian and her 30 day shred here

I plan on posting my measurements and weight on here now that I'm actively looking to loose some. In the meantime know that I'm already down about 5 pounds! Yippee!

Also stay tuned because I am working on a blog post on how exercise and diet can affect breastfeeding! If you have any stories about how exercise or diet may have dropped your supply please feel free to email me with your story!

Thanks for all the support! Looking forward to sharing all my stories, reviews, etc. with you in 2011!!

The new year

January 09, 2011 2 Comments
Okay this is the last time I try to write this post! I've been using this app on my iPhone called blogbuster and have tried to write this post two times already when it's locked up on me and required a reinstall or has deleted my post in the middle of writing it! So frustrating!

The start of a brand new year and I've already been MIA! Sorry about that! I'm still adjusting to life with a newborn and a toddler and getting over all the holiday craziness! We had a great Christmas and enjoyed all the time with the family but it is definitely nice to get back to normal and back to our family routine.

Both my kids were spoiled rotten! Toys and clothes! It's hard to believe that Everett who is just two moths old has a closest full if toys already! Seriously he has enough stuff in there to regift back to him until his first birthday! Can I do that?

Speaking of Everett, he's over two months already! He's proved to be ALOT different than Hannah, much fussier and more needy then she ever was. That has been quite the adjustment for us. Learning how to balance the time between both Hannah and Everett and make sure Hannah doesn't get lonely or left out has been a real challenge. I think I have finally figured it out though thank gooodness! I have been wearing Everett on my Mei tai quite a bit! That way I can still play babies, dolls, do crafts etc with Hannah, Everett is happy being held and next to the boob all day plus I can still do chores like wash the floors, dishes and make meals! It's been a great help this time around! I used it when Hannah was little but really only while we out and about. this time it's definitely getting it's fair share of wear! I love it!

So again I'm sorry I've been MIA I promise I'll be back more regular, I've got some great things planned! More reviews, giveaways and other exciting things up my sleeve! Be sure to check back often!

This year as well I'm really focusing on what this blog was originally started for and that's my weight loss journey! I'm no longer pregnant or have any excuse to not lose the weight! I will be talking about the things I'm using, doing and eating to stay healthy and maintain a good life style!

I'm looking forword to this year and hope you all continue to follow me and my journey as a mom of two trying to find the time to exercise and loose some weight!
